Objectives

This project aims to raise awareness among young Europeans about the importance of fighting for gender equality between men and women. It is simply a matter of justice and respect for the human rights, dignity and freedom of each person. The main objective we have set out is to provide the main gender tools for young people to reflect on and question the gender stereotypes and prejudices that society creates and reproduces and that enable inequalities between women and men. The participation of 20 young workers from eight different EU countries will allow the exchange of experiences on gender equality through the music of each country within the different socio-cultural realities of the EU. The objectives of the TC are linked to those of the Erasmus + program thanks to the promotion of EU principles such as equality, non-discrimination and tolerance, with a view to promoting intercultural dialogue and integration for the construction of a European society open to diversity and dynamics for young people. The expected results that we will achieve with the implementation of this TC are: - To raise awareness among young Europeans about the importance of fighting for gender equality between men and women. - Provide the main gender tools for young people to reflect on and question gender stereotypes and prejudices that society creates and reproduces, and which enable inequalities between women and men. - Encourage in young people the critical capacity of everyday realities that enclose discrimination, such as through music. - To promote in the participants an approach based on gender equality, as a social opportunity. - To create a space for the exchange of experiences between the participants of the different countries, making a comparative analysis of the different realities and social responses to the question of gender equity. The content of the TC will be addressed through participatory methods of dialogue and discussion, as well as delivery of activities based primarily on non-formal education. The long-term benefits of this TC are to enable participants to develop skills and competencies to discover and dismantle the mechanisms that maintain and perpetuate inequalities between women and men in society and to raise awareness among young people in Europe and the organizations they represent, on the importance of this social phenomenon that usually goes unnoticed, but that nevertheless has direct influence in the society, especially in the youngest.
