Objectives

In recent times we see how through social networks and mass media, there is a tendency to give credibility to content and news that really play with the attitudes, emotions and beliefs of citizens. These hoaxes, known as fake news, show a clear interest in influencing negatively, being mostly contrary to the values that the European Union represents, and resulting in a polarization and radicalization in behavior. The increase of extremist thoughts and attitudes in the young population, rejection of diversity, violence, xenophobia, gender violence, etc ... is closely related to these messages that are transmitted at great speed through mainly social networks , especially in the face of events of great marked social interest (Brexit, elections, accidents, catastrophes, etc.). For this reason, with this project we intend to hold a training seminar among different organizations that work with young people from different European countries, to analyze and share the problems and risks we are facing, the situation in the different regions of Europe, and examples of methods and practices developed in different EU countries to promote the development of information analysis capacity, strengthen the capacity for critical analysis and the development of the values of European citizenship (tolerance, respect, democracy, inclusion , equality, etc.) among the young population, update us to this new informative context through the ICT, and in this way prevent and intervene before processes of radicalization.
