Volunteering for Inclusion is a project with which we want to unite two complementary and mutually enriching areas, such as the social inclusion of people with functional diversity and the youth mobility projects of the Erasmus + program. With this project, we want to develop inclusive activities and workshops from non-formal education methodologies that combine the use of creativity, art and the performance of daily activities, to encourage the development of key competences of the participants and skills for the independent life of people with functional diversity, at the same time that we promote the approach and visibility of an area in which there is a great lack of knowledge, such as the integration of people with functional diversity in social, civic and youth life in rural areas, promoting also the active participation of young people in the promotion of social inclusion through volunteering activities. Volunteering for Inclusion is a project that also seeks to carry out a youth initiative project of social entrepreneurship and active participation, which responds to some of the needs and challenges that we detect in our towns, such as the lack of planning of youth activities that may be inclusive , the barriers that exist in the equal treatment of people with functional diversity, the limitations we impose on ourselves when carrying out volunteer activities or the lack of resources of rural young people with functional diversity that allow them to develop their independence skills and have a social life of quality, being able to accede to the same type of offer of youth, formative and leisure activities that the rest of the population. The objectives that we want to achieve with this project are the following: - Promoting the inclusion of young people with functional diversity in youth and mobility projects. - To enhance the normalization of functional diversity in young people, working on reflective capacity and the breaking of stereotypes about people with functional diversity. - Promote volunteering in relation to work with people with functional diversity. - Promote creativity as a way of working on social inclusion and the development of key competences of young people with functional diversity. - Promote European volunteering as a way to contribute and develop our skills. - Encourage youth participation and active citizenship, to encourage local youth to be involved in facilitating the inclusion of people with functional diversity. - Publicize and create inclusive non-formal education tools. - Develop skills among young people (such as language skills, social and civic skills, creativity, social entrepreneurship and digital skills) that we can then use to favor the inclusion of young people with functional diversity and encourage the active participation of youth and volunteers.
