Objectives

Trough "BEaST 2.0" we want to promote diversity and social integration, carrying out different cultural sessions with which we intend to raise awareness about multiple cultures in Europe, using sport and team activities as a tool. Both Youropía and the partner organizations understand sport as a very valuable tool to learn how to work in a team and the importance of self-care and personal development. "BEaST 2.0" aims to promote mobility opportunities within a group of young people with fewer opportunities; giving them different learning opportunities and facing new challenges. This experience will allow them to maintain an intercultural dialogue with young people of three European nationalities, developing new skills and promoting healthy habits through sports and outdoor activities . The main aim will be to offer learning opportunities to young people with fewer opportunities through sport and outdoor activities. The specific objectives are: - Social development and personal growth through sports. - Improvement of social skills and creation of positive and healthy personal relationships. - Improvement of foreign language skills. - Awareness of the reality of a diverse Europe: intercultural dialogue and learning. We believe that "BEaST 2.0" will be a good experience for young people, in which they could expand their knowledge and improve in the field of communication. Said by the participants themselves: "we want to carry out this project because we are really excited to be able to share a time with people so different and, at the same time, so similar that we share a lot of things despite living in different societies, promoting tolerance and breaking down prejudices. " Regarding the needs to which it responds, our participants highlight the following points: "Many people do not find the motivation to learn another language which, in the long term, leads to not being able to establish communication with people from other places and generate rejection. This type of experience is very motivating in order to learn another language because by sharing time and space with other people you discover how important it really is, something that is hard to experience in your local reality. Currently, prejudices between people from different places are increasing, leading even to hate situations. Through this experience we will be able to discover everything that we have in common with people from other countries and, by that, lose many of the prejudices or prevent from having them in the future. With regard to sport, we consider it a great opportunity for participants to discover new sports and test their limits in a controlled and non-judgmental environment. It is a great opportunity to grow, as we must step out of our comfort zone and face new experiences through which we will discover that we are capable of many things we did not know and can have a very important motivating effect. Finally, this exchange is also a way to value the cultural and natural heritage of our community, something that we often do not realise, until someone from outside values it positively ". During the exchange, we will work with non-formal education approach and using previously agreed methodologies, encouraging the participants to explore and overcome their own limits through the activities and teamwork.
