Project summary

This project is born from the interest of five entities from Spain, Greece and Poland to explore jointly with other agents forms of cooperation and mutual support, of cross-sectorial youth work, which facilitates and enhances the work we develop and, consequently, has a positive effect on the youth population of our communities. With this in mind, we have proposed the following objectives: - Identify the agents of the area with whom efforts can be added; - Explore cross-sectorial work options that improve the final impact we produce on the youth population; - Share experiences and propose export models of cooperation between different social agents; - Train the key people involved in possible cross-sectorial actions to facilitate this cooperation. In order to meet our objectives, we will implement an analysis of reality followed by a training activity to share and discover intersectoral work options. With this we will work on experimenting new formats and analyzing their results. Finally we will draw conclusions and share results of everything learned. In this process we will involve more than 1000 young people (13 to 30 years old) of very diverse profiles from all our communities. We will also involve more than 200 people who work with young people and who play a very important role in the cross-sectorial process. All the process and the actions that are developed will be based on non-formal education, an active and participative methodology, that adapts to the concrete and real needs of the people, attractive and effective to achieve our objectives. In the end we hope to improve the cooperation between agents so that youth work is of quality and intersectoral, which will imply a greater impact on the youth population.

Objectives

The objectives we set when writing this project were: - Identify agents in the area with whom efforts can be joined; - Explore intersectoral work options that improve the final impact we produce on the youth population; - Share experiences and propose exportable models of cooperation between different social agents; - Train the key people involved in possible intersectoral actions to facilitate this cooperation. - Analysis of possible opportunities for intersectoral work on youth in our environments. - Compilation and design of intersectoral work models - catalog of ideas. - Staff training on the subject. - New intersectoral actions in the affected communities. - Improvement in the quality and impact of youth work. All have been fulfilled in the participating countries, involving the estimated agents and adding many others to the work that added quality to the project.

Background

Young people live in a world of over-stimulation, with thousands of opportunities around them, with a multitude of agents and roles involved... And in this chaos and saturation are the entities that work with young people. We are one more element and generally one of the least powerful. However, as the Erasmus+ program demonstrates by its strong support for the youth sector, we are vitally important and can have a very positive impact on the lives of the young people we work with. In this tangle of options and possible situations, there are powerful agents such as educational centers and local administrations, which, although we can now say that they "compete" with us (and we can already assure that we lose out) for the attention of the youth (whether with offers or impositions, such as assistance to the compulsory education system), in reality we should be complementary, support each other to advance and fulfill our objective, which in the end is shared: the adequate development of youth. And this is not something that only the partner entities of this project see, it appears again and again in the reference documents on youth, such as the European Union Strategy for Youth 2019-2027, in which it is repeatedly mentions the need for more intersectoral work. And therein lies the basis of our project, entities from the youth sector in Spain, Greece and Poland that we wanted to explore together with other agents forms of cooperation and mutual support that facilitate and enhance the work that we develop and, consequently, have a positive effect on the youth population of our communities. Although the aforementioned entities were the most involved in the project, we also included other actors from our environments that showed their interest: city councils in our areas, other educational centers, various social and sports entities... even some social enterprise. In addition, once the project was implemented, we have had the collaboration of other organizations that we will mention later.
