Sexess strived toward enhancing the competence of youth workers to help young people to improve their sexual health. We wanted the participants to be able to encourage young people to talk more openly about sex, since it seems to be a topic that is not often discussed, especially between young people and adults. But also, in general, talking about sex is still taboo in some countries and we wished to break the silence. Our objectives were adjusted a bit and the final version is that we wished to: -map what is hindering young people from having a good sexual health -exchange good practices regarding sexual education and supporting young people to learn about sex and sexual health -give youth workers tools to talk with young people about sex and sexual health -help the youth workers to plan and implement workshops about the topic in their home countries It became clear to us during the course of the project that we needed to modify the objective to give youth workers tools to communicate with young people about sex in the sense that it needed to strongly include online/virtual tools. Links to the Erasmus+ programme Sexess is closely linked to the 2nd and 4th priority of the youth section: - Sexess enhances capacity building for youth workers and organisations and the project does this to support young people, and thereby also foster quality improvement in youth work. - In Sexess we cooperated with other stakeholders for having expert input during the project activity A2 and the follow-up, as well as for visibility. - Sexess was a project with cooperation between programme countries and partner countries, and included programme countries which are not EU members. It thereby contributed to cooperation between EU and its neighbours. - We have personal and organisation contacts that provide good channels for spreading the project´s message and material to European level organisations, such as ECYC, YMCA, YWCAS, RYEurope, NSU and the European Youth Forum.
