This international youth exchange aims to produce a project that reflects the wishes of the youth themselves and in which they can bring forth their skills and put them to work in an international environment. Project hosts workshops in which the youth teach each other, share their skills and knowledge and in exchange, learn new skills from others. The aim is to specifically teach and share skills that the youth could utilize in volunteering and that would benefit them broadly in their future aspirations, whether professional or personal. One of the project’s central aims is to give the youth agency in planning and executing the project and have it reflect their ideas and concept. They are essential actors, not simply recipients. The youth will have a chance to gain confidence by realising their contributions matter and that their skills are valuable and useful. The youth will be able to form links and friendships beyond their native country’s borders and understand they share both challenges and skills that are applicable in the lives of other youth no matter the nationality or background. Through their new and renewed skills, the youth will also gain confidence in their capability to make a difference in their own life and surroundings, thus empowering them also to be a more active member of society, whether national, European or global.
