“Hike for Health” project is based on an advanced planning visit to the main event and the youth exchange. The Advance Planning Visit will take place between 17th and 18th of August and the youth exchange between 6th and 12th of September 2019. Both of the activities will be organized in Csolnok. Partner organizations are established in Poland, Romania and Hungary. During the youth exchange we are planning to have getting to know each other games and some icebreakers, introduction to Erasmus+ programme and Youthpass certificate. The youngsters will exchange ideas for outdoor games and play some of them as well as have a debate about importance of being active. The youth exchange will be full of hiking activities (Gete-hegy and Öreg-kő / Rám-szakadék). The participants will also have a chance to get to know more about the regional heritage (workshops about wine production, story of miners). One of the most crucial workshops will be related to healthy diet. The youngster will also explore more Csolnok and “mountain” culture during the Treasure Hunt. The youngster will prepare a flash mob - its main message will be connected with the healthy and active lifestyle. Also, this exchange will be important for the participants to understand that we can only stay healthy if our environment is healthy (that is why we are organizing cleaning event on the way to Rám-szakadék). What is more, the youngsters will have the possibility to turn their ideas for salads into practice and share what they prepared with the local youngsters. At the end of each day there will be a time for reflection which will help the participants to understand their learning outcomes. Also each “after dinner” activities will result in intercultural exchange. There will be 6 participants that will take part in the APV (team leader and one participant from each project country) and 27 participants (one team leader plus 8 participants from each country) that will participate in the youth exchange. The participants are young people interested in improving the health knowledge, intercultural awareness and physical condition. Some of the participants met on the youth exchange in Curtea de Arges. The rest of the participants are their friends, volunteers from the organizations that showed the interest and willingness to participate in the application creation and project implementation process. The participants are young people from 16-21 years old, interested in improving the health knowledge, intercultural awareness and physical condition, 18 people will be disadvantaged young people: 12 from rural areas and 6 participants whose economic situation is difficult. Some of the participants have never participated in any youth exchange nor met foreign people. Some participants have problems with health issues and are overweight. The disadvantaged participants come from each of the project countries. The team leaders are mostly youth workers. They have been involved in the youth work done by the NGOs in their region. They have already participated in the youth exchanges before and also had a chance to be or observe team leaders. They stay in touch with their team members and are being described by the youngsters as good mediators with strong empathetic skills. Their English knowledge is on a high lever – thanks to this they will be able to support their team member with some translations.
