In the busy weekdays we tend to look over the social problems happening around us, which affect our everyday life knowingly or subconsciously. The phenomenons of the technical development, the poverty, the inequality and the consumer society – without noticing it – has a part in our day to day life: it can be found in public squares, in the streets, in the bus stops and even at home, to mention only the most popular zones. These are usually the most invisible for the younger generation but we would like to form a more conscious approach in them. Every participant can talk about these phenomenons in their own lives, to which this project acts as a possible solution finding alternative. The modern world of the young parttakers and photography comes hand in hand with each other so processing this theme through pictures provides an opportunity to bring this topic of society’s fatally inescapable negative occurrences to light in a way that is suitable to the young and which had been of no interest before. The aim of the project is for the young people to get a realistic picture of reality and to have a holistic outlook on the world through visual effects. As a result they would become reactive to social problems and would face our ,,sick” society ,which is constantly battling with difficulties, from a more responsible and mature aspect. At the end of the project, the participants – using their freshly learnt point of view – would create their own take on the topics that would represent their thoughts which are formed during the project. The youth exchange’s main goal is to develop the returning students’ personalities morally and also to give a plus to the participants that shows up as usable knowledge both in their daily and in their work life. The spectrum of their vision would not only expand in the field of photography but in the way they treat the underprivileged and their attitude towards them as well. We would like if the standing stereotypes would vanish, if the walls built up against the people who struggle with difficulties would demolish, if our consciousness of the environment would increase and would contribute to its sustainability and also if our eyes – which almost melts into the screen after staring at it for hours - would notice the real world’s happenings surrounding them.
