Objectives

The project is based on previous experience of project partners and needs assessment made by each of them. Namely, we see the threats that the intolerance toward each others culture, misunderstanding, cultural conflicts and social exclusion often results in raised radicalization of certain youngsters; hate speech and hate crime. Every day we come across hate speech narratives on the bases of different culture, religion and ethnicity. We can name examples of strengthened far-rights movement in Europe and in Eastern partnership countries with increased participation of young people. The main reason for developing this project is to make youngsters of various cultural, ethnic, religious and linguistic backgrounds come together and interchange ideas to support developing of democratic and inclusive society. It is unique possibility for all participants to experience exchanging of ideas, attitudes, habits, culture at international environment and use cultural differences as a tool of unity in diverse Europe. The project is devised to exchange information about different cultures and international settings that is necessary to broaden horizon for bringing positive changes within the societies at local and regional levels. A primary goal of culturally responsive project is to help participants become respectful of the multitudes of cultures and people that they’ll interact with. The project will show that cultural differences are to be cherished and appreciated rather than judged and feared and cultural diversity is more advantage rather disadvantage. We seek to make youngsters more open-minded, tolerant, respectful to human rights and integrated with other youngsters with diverse cultural and national background. We believe, we can create a space for intercultural dialogue where the youth with different national and cultural background will gather, share skills and experience, launch communication and develop open minded approaches to the diversity. We seek: - To increase intercultural awareness and dialogue by promoting diversity through unity; - To raise awareness on common values of democracy, tolerance and respect of human rights and EU founding values; - To foster dialogue among youngsters with different cultural background and get rid of cultural conflicts; - To discover new cultures and lifestyles and promote active citizenship. Our main aim is to assist young people in terms of developing their skills in intercultural environment. Therefore, project is designed in a way to reasonably improve variety of skills, such as: - Successful networking and communication in intercultural environment; - Intercultural awareness; - Tolerance and respect to diversity; - Sense of initiative to engage in active community life for positive changes; - Self-empowerment and self-esteem; - Foreign language competences; -Motivation for active involvement in the education and training projects abroad. -Soft and hard skills such as presentation communication, debating skill; -Team working abilities. We aim to improve participants lifelong skills during the project: - Better communication in multicultural environment; - Confidence and self-believe; - Listening to different viewpoints and taking them into account; - Understanding the difference from the positive point of view. We plan to address the development and improvement of each of the skills during the different activities organised in the framework of the project such as ice-breaking games, group exercises, role plays, name games, warm-up exercises, networking games, problem-solving and communication activities. We concentrate on the informal learning as the best way to engage young people from different backgrounds to involve actively and share their experiences as well as develop strong friendship and trust within each other. Different cultural situations will enhance their understanding and tolerance, thus, encourage them to benefit the project fully. Other social events will include cultural evenings, lunches, sport and fun activities, breaks to socialize partners with each other and create the common network which gains project sustainability in the future. The project is designed so that participants gain new skills throughout the process. Our main instrument in order to achieve project objectives is to ensure full-fledged engagement of the participants within the activities. The tools used during the project will be diverse and oriented to awareness raising and mutual learning, learning by doing.
