The main objective of the „Youth acting for a greener environment – Small steps lead to big results” (Y-AGE) titled project was to enlarge the knowledge of youth about environmental protection and to improve their environmental awareness and competences. The young people of our foreign partner organizations - Asociatia Turul Madar from Sfantu Gheorghe, Romania, Luminosus, n.o. from Veľké Kapušany, Slovakia and the Zespol Szkol im. Bohaterow Westerplatte Foundation from Jabłonka, Poland- were prepared to present a local environmental or natural problem (harm to nature or the environment) that affected them as well as they could also feel its harmful effects. We wanted to show our participants that the small steps really lead to big results. Through the example of Kaptarko Association we wanted to empower them to make local actions so they would be able to have their own nature and environmental protection actions. The main objectives of the project were -to promote non-formal educational opportunities addressing the personal and social development of both youth communities and individuals; -to increase youngpeople’s knowledge and awareness about the environment and associated challenges; -to develop the necessary skills and expertise to address the challenges through exchange of good practices, intercultural exchanges and creative work. Another really important aim of the project was to activate the youth and let them find those activities in the life of the organizations in which they were interested in, thus to strengthen the voluntary base of the organizations. We wished to provide guidance to the youth about how they can live a life closer to nature. Furthermore, we aimed to stimulate a change in the mindset of the participants.
