Objectives

Objective 1: LOETB provided internationally-based IT CPD for school leaders in 2020, as they believed that successful programmes require the support of school leaders. This mobility opportunity aimed to enhance digital competences and address 5 of the 6 European Development Plan aims. Objective 2: LOETB established a community of practice for music and drama teachers through the provision of international CPD. This was followed by a proposal to investigate opportunities for further European integration via KA101 or KA102 Erasmus possibilities. This mobility opportunity aimed to address 5 of the 6 European Development Plan aims, specifically focusing on creativity and culture. Objective 3: LOETB provided a mobility shadowing and observation opportunity for middle and senior school management to engage in a European Mobility programme. The aim was to enhance pedagogy and didactics and increase the number of schools participating in KA101 and KA102 Erasmus+ opportunities. LOETB proposed to provide this opportunity to a partner school in Malta for senior and/or middle management in 2020. This opportunity aimed to address 5 of the 6 European Development Plan aims.

Background

LOETB anticipated significant system enhancement through direct involvement in the Erasmus+ programme. This enhancement was intended to include cultural appreciation through mobility programmes, professional development opportunities, and the potential for sharing leading practices and introducing new teaching methodologies. The development of pan-European partnerships and communities of practice among teachers and staff was a preliminary target, as well as increased activity in the development of pan-European learning links. There was also potential for the introduction of new practices in the area of teaching, learning, assessment, feedback, and reporting (formal CPD, shadowing and observation of alternative methodologies in European partner institutions, and sharing of leading practice).
