Establish and develop long term European connections. Equip our PLC QQI level 5 students with academic and soft skills to work at home or across Europe. Create work placement opportunities abroad. Raise the profile of Errigal College. Create an inclusive education setting. Develop students' cultural awareness. In line with the European guideline on New Skills Agenda (2016) we also aim to improve the quality and relevance of training and especially work-based learning. In addition, the college hopes to enhance employability skills and aid students to make better career choices, find quality jobs and improve life skills. Instill a mindset of lifelong learning.
Errigal College set out a plan at the start of the academic year 2019/20 of increasing European collaboration, through student mobility. The college recognized the need to enhance European relations and give students opportunities to work and travel abroad and to prepare our students for living and working in a strongly integrated and inclusive society and to promote intercultural understanding and tolerance. We wanted to provide a valuable learning experience for our PLC students, staff and the wider community, to strengthen the European dimension to PLC programmes on offer in the college and to enhance students employability and add value to the qualification attained by participants. We also applied for this opportunity to provide participants with new learning experiences that may encourage and support them to progress to Higher Education and full time employment.
