The broad aim of our KA1 application was to provide an opportunity for our staff to engage in Professional Learning Development and networking with people working in similar institutions, in other European countries. Anchoring our services within the framework of European best practice, adding value to our services through Erasmus + programmes and staff mobility programmes for our staff. The challenge within our service is to empower individuals and enable them to fully participate in education and training, by equipping them with the skills and knowledge required to be an active member of the learning group and thus becoming a more active and fully functioning citizen within their communities. We knew there would be great learning for our people and service by engaging with other FET centres. In addition we wanted to develop new international partnerships, in congruence with Cork ETB ethos. The aim was to build on existing local and national partnerships and build strong working relationships with international organisations adding value to the “partnership approach”.
