Objectives

Logos is a training programme for young and emerging theatre artists who are learning to facilitate drama workshops. It brings together 34 participants in Pelion, Greece, to train in methods of facilitation used by more experienced and older professions from Ireland and Greece. The training uses a mix of peer-learning, practical demonstrations, collaborative creation, discussion and reflection to share techniques, and to pass on elements of good practice to the 16 to 30 year old participants. We hope that each participant will return to their host organization and community better equipped to lead their own workshops with children and young people in schools, youth groups and youth theatres. One of the priorities of the Erasmus+ programme concerns the employability of young people. The Logos programme will enhance our participants' skills in a number of areas, which will hopefully boost their confidence in seeking employment. It will also give them valuable experience and technical training in the drama facilitation area, thus increasing their skills base. In this way, Logos is an employability enhancement project, encouraging and supporting participants to promote themselves as drama facilitators. Logos will create a video of the project which will be available on a number of platforms, including the partners' websites. There will also be a blog detailing a number of the activities, games and exercises used in the training. The training is shared between the partners, each of whom are organisations active in the field of youth theatre in Europe. It a project coordinated by Crooked House Theatre Company in Ireland.
