Objectives

Brokering change for young people will be most effective if the awareness of the need for change and the desire for action comes directly from young people themselves. Youth workers and youth leaders are best placed to encourage, motivate and empower young people. One of our staff attended the Power for You(th) training in Luxembourg and found it to be incredibly effective – teaching impactful skills, developing debate and discussion and giving both the opportunity to explore how the Erasmus+ programme can help to do this and a space for participants to explore their role, both personally and professionally in this journey of learning. The aims and objectives: • To explore the concept of empowerment as a learning process, • To explore both what the role of youth work and the role of the youth worker/youth leader is in the empowerment of young people, • To discover the value of the Erasmus+ youth programme as a tool for empowerment, • To experience and exchange inspirational tools and methods which encourage empowerment that can be transferred to working reality.
