The main objective of this project is to build capacities of individual members and the YAP groups as units. A framework of knowledge, attitudes and practices as been developed to provide context for this. The project will achieve this in the following ways: Knowledge: - Develop participants’ knowledge and understanding of gender, policy frameworks, advocacy and campaigning. - Through the action project component, participants will develop their knowledge of how to project manage, plan and delegate effectively. Attitudes: - Recognition and acknowledgement of complexity of gender and its many dimensions. - A heightened awareness of the importance of youth led advocacy and activism. - Greater appreciation of their function in internal governance practices within Plan Practices: - Stronger and more refined communication, leadership and problem-solving skills, as well as effective team-working. - YAP members feel more comfortable contributing to their YAP and confident working together. - YAP members are effective in developing and implementing advocacy campaigns, engaging their peers and relevant stakeholders for change. - YAPs play an integral role in internal governance within Plan – representing the voice of youth in decision-making processes, and serving a role in internal accountability.
