Objectives

The aim of this seminar is to make a contribution to the human rights of young refugees and migrants by offering a space for different sectors to understand the situation of this group and to build cross-sectoral bridges, on the basis of the knowledge developed by different fields, and particularly the youth field. UNHCR elaborated “5 core directions” (protect, respond, include, empower and solve) as guiding lines for the process of integration in its “Strategic plan 2017 – 2021”. During this seminar, we will be deepening the direction n. 5 “Include”. We will stress in particular the importance of the collaboration and the creation of a multi-dimensional approach to the integration of young refugees that takes into account all the sectors involved. The objectives of the project are the following: 1) Sharing experiences and good practices with participants and exchanging ideas for creating new action or training courses; 2) Creating a network of organizations all around Europe where the vision is to support young refugees; 3) Analysing how a child rights based – approach can benefit the process of resettlement of young refugees; 4) Finding a cross-cutting approach to have an overall perspective on the resettlement of refugees that takes into account all the sectors involved (i.e. legal, social and educational).
