Objectives

“Change and Act for Climate Together, 4 US” (CACT4US) is a 8 days KA105 youth exchange that will gather in Giovinazzo, Italy, 30 participants from 6 different countries: Italy, Spain, Portugal, Estonia, Latvia and Poland. Our main aim is to equip young people, including especially those with fewer opportunities facing social, economic and geographical obstacles, with competences and fostering the development of their sense if initiative in the topics of climate action and environmental protection. The youth exchange ‘CACT4US’ is also in line with goals set by the Youth Goals (http://youthgoals.eu/) that represent views of young people from all over Europe: "SUSTAINABLE GREEN EUROPE: Achieve a society in which all young people are environmentally active, educated and able to make a difference in their everyday lives." After the recent strikes organised all over the world by the Fridays For Future’s movements, young people demonstrated that they care about their planet and they claim for climate justice. Exactly as like “cactus”, with our project, we want to poke public opinion and common sense with our thorns (of awareness, active citizenship, climate action and environmental protection), raising awareness, especially through youth. The objectives of the project are: - to offer participants the possibility to experience non formal education and experiential learning on a personal level and provide them with a practical set of tools, methods and activities on the project topics, which they can implement in their countries; - fostering active citizenship and make young people acquire empowerment strategies for becoming change agents in their respective societies; - better understand the impact of climate change on our environment and our lives and raise awareness, fostering collective reflection about the ecological issue in a European scale; - activate young people to take actions for the environment; - foster knowledge on climate action, on the 13th sustainable development goal from United Nations and the importance of our practices on sustainable development; - to develop together new experiential and non-formal activities on the project topics and motivate and inspire participants to multiply their improved / gained competences and knowledge within their own local context; - reinforce communication capacity between young people from different cultures.
