Why “A Bold Move”? During the years many training courses have been implemented on many themes connected to the development of skills, knowledges and practices to increase the awareness about cultural and social values that must be better considered among youth workers to foster their work among youngsters, in order to have better prepared generations for the future. The work done in all those years has been valuable but, since our world is everchanging, some methods could be out of date or not responding anymore to the needs of youth workers and young people. The aim of this training course is to innovate those methods and to break the “liturgy” that stands like a monolith on the path for a youth work that must look forward, using the past as a resource and not as an everlasting guide. This project is intended to be a development tool for youth workers and educators who want to learn more and to go deeper on three competencies present in both the ETS Competence model and the Competence Model for Youth Worker to Work Internationally, such as Designing Programmes, Cooperating successfully in teams and Communicating Meaningfully with Others. We strongly believe that these three competencies are the basis on which an effective youth work should stand because they are intrinsically oriented to create a better relationship between youth workers and youngsters. As a matter of fact, these three competencies are getting a continuous importance in the frame of youth work because teamwork and successful communication represent two essential pillars for the success of all those actions that regards youngsters and their development through the methods of Non Formal Education, methods that need to be shared using the designing of educational programmes that could be effective among youth people. The three competencies involved in the implementation of the Training Course will be used on two layers. The first layer will be represented by the Non Formal Education activities that will allow the participants to know better and deeper the strict nature of the competencies in order to make them able to pass these competencies to other youth workers and to their target groups. The second layer will be represented by the effective use and development of the competencies even during the sessions of the Training Course in order to let the participants internalize how effective the competencies will be in their daily work. Besides the development of the competencies, this Training Course wants to be a step forward toward the complete recognition of youth work and of the role of youth workers through its final product, a Manifesto that wants to summarize the experiences, the expertise and the knowledge of the partner organisations, guaranteeing a wide perspective about the youth work.
