It is important for disabled youth to change in accordance with a rapidly changing life, to adapt, to reveal their personal abilities, to nurture and use them well for their personal and social welfare. Therefore, it is crucial for every person with disabilities to have the opportunity to develop properly since childhood. Unfortunately, there is still a lack of the necessary conditions and means for them to develop as individuals, to reveal their natural powers. There is a lack of professional and social support, funds, public tolerance and recognition. This project is aimed at young people experiencing social exclusion with light to medium mental disabilities who live and study in special education and care institutions. The project seeks to develop their mental, emotional and physical strengths, self-esteem and self-expression in order to let them integrate into society more successfully, to have less social and cultural exclusion. Participation in the project will create favourable conditions for young people to get to know and evaluate themselves, learn to communicate and collaborate, make decisions, develop motivation for positive changes, improve communication skills. The project aims to enrich the lives of these young people, to make it possible to travel, get to know the world, learn and communicate in the European Union. We want to show disabled youth what the world is and how it can be perceived through five senses, communication and the opportunities offered by the EU. After the implementation of this project, good practices would be shared with specialists from Latvia and Croatia. A wider audience of the disabled would benefit from the advanced social inclusion, education and employment methods. The project would promote human values, intercultural cooperation, and reduce the exclusion of disabled and socially vulnerable persons. This project aims to address the problems of social and cultural integration of disabled people and young people with fewer opportunities. The aim of the project is to promote social inclusion of young people with disabilities and young people with fewer opportunities through 5 senses: hearing, vision, taste, touch and smell.
