Objectives

It is often hard for young people to make their voices heard in the world of adults. They have precious pristine view, fresh creative ideas, but they often lack the tools to communicate their position correctly so that it can make an impact in the society. When teenagers want to be part of civic society, a problem for them is to go beyond the group of peers and communicate with adults as equal. This shift from childhood to adult life, a step to becoming subjects of change, is a significant stage in the development of young people. The objective of the exchange is to provide teenagers with the tools for effective communication with adults in order to facilitate their active participation in civil society. Nowadays our world values youth as an engine of the future. People talk a lot about how next generation is special, but stereotypes stand in the way of fruitful communication between the generations. Learning activities of the exchange develop such competencies as critical thinking, effective communication, analysis, reflection, argumentation and advocacy. The participants will boost their self-esteem, discuss and analyze stereotypes about teenagers and adults. As a result, they will be equipped with confidence in their power and the value that they can bring to the society, ready to make the changes on their own.
