Youth project “EUtopia - the Reality or Myth?” aims to carry out the activities for European Citizenship and Identities in European society. Our organization - “Lux Urban Culture”, with the help of our partners from Estonia, Poland, Italy, and Slovakia decided to cooperate on the topic of active citizenship to develop the understanding among young people of what active citizenship can become in their own context, within the value framework on which modern EU is based. Through the project, young people will exchange their thoughts aiming to define the relationship between the state and society from the one side and young individual from another. During the exchange, young people will be able to define and practice citizenship in four different forms: based on rights, on duties and responsibilities, on papers, and on national identities. Knowledge of these forms will help to understand each other when debating. The adjectives of the project are to: Equip young people with skills, knowledge and understanding of active citizenship and multiple identities in Europe. Develop participants’ attitude and behavior, empower them to exercise and defend their responsibilities and democratic rights in European society. Stimulate young people to play an active role in the life of the state and value diversity and democratic principles of EU. Prepare participants to intercultural dialogue and encourage curiosity and effort to make sense of a complex world. Help young people of the project to facilitate open identity definition.
