With this YE we wanted to promote the psychology of money and financial literacy among youngsters. To make this we have set up and eventually achieved the following objectives: 1. To promote financial education policies with a view to improving consumer protection in the financial markets. 2. To help European youth to make informed decisions on their finances. 3. To promote the need for financial education and to boost financial literacy in Europe, particularly among young people. 4. To break limiting stereotypes and improve participants’ relationship with money. 5. To coordinate and work constructively with others, overcoming cultural and language barriers, to achieve common goals. 6. To promote the accessibility of the Erasmus + Programme for young people with fewer opportunities. We wanted to create a collaboration with our 4 partners from Portugal, Romania, Italy and Spain and together with the participants coming from them, organise a youth exchange called “Upgrade your financial knowledge”. We wanted that the participants of this project improve their relationship with money, raise their level of financial literacy, improve their financial situation, meet new cultures, learn how better work in a group, and also visit Latvia and bring home this intercultural experience.
