The world, including Europe, is facing global environmental crisis that has been growing in size since the industrial revolution. Each country and each individual is affected by climate change, for instance, by experiencing changing weather patterns, rising sea levels, and extreme weather phenomenon, but unconsciously people still daily contribute to pollution of our world. It is due to the fast and on the go lifestyle that people nowadays are living with excessive usage of plastic, more precisely, single-use plastic that is mainly used only for few minutes and then disposed of, resulting in an enormous problem. Youth workers are struggling to provide support and raise awareness on these topics due to obvious reasons as lack of education about plastic pollution and its contributing role in climate change, moreover, pragmatic ways on how to raise awareness about mentioned topics as well as lack of skills on how to initiate habit change regarding the reduction of plastic consumption starting from an individual level. This project aims to fill a gap, meaning, it aims to raise awareness about plastic pollution amongst youth workers and NGO's and starts introducing and developing new ideas and initiatives on how to raise awareness and actually make this swap from single-use plastic to more sustainable materials in one's daily life. Following objectives have been set: 1. Break down the concepts of climate change and plastic pollution to develop an understanding of elements that stand behind them 2. Review contributing elements/reasons for plastic pollution and stress the negative impact that plastic pollution has on the environment 3. Uncover each participant’s ecological footprint to ensure more conscious and mindful future actions towards the environment 4. Using non-formal learning methods explore how to make a switch from fast to sustainable to reduce plastic usage on an individual level 5. Organize public workshop event in the locality to show different creative ways how to limit plastic usage, consequently, raise awareness about the issue not only between the participants but as well in the local and regional community 6. Come up with initiatives that would raise awareness and encourage youngsters to adapt and promote a mindset of taking actions to fight plastic pollution 7. Create an interactive guide with practical steps on how to reduce plastic consumption on an individual level that can be used by youth multipliers and NGO's when working with young people 8. Give opportunity to youth workers and NGO’s new in the topics on environment and climate change to learn good practices and experience alternatives ways of doing youth work in order to foster future collaborations and more activities and projects within the environmental dimension 9. Inform participants about Erasmus + Programme and possibilities of developing new projects within them programme and encourage them to use it in order to raise awareness and promote green projects
