As we wrote in our application the aim of the of the project was to provide youth workers with tools and methodologies in order to achieve higher inclusion levels in the volunteering activities under the European Solidarity Corps program, to increase the quality of the project and reduce the drop out of young people facing social or physical obstacles. As mentioned in the project description, the objectives of this project were: - To train youth workers and bring them tools to tackle inclusion and quality in the new Program European Solidarity Corps - To support frontline practitioners, especially educators, youth and social workers, with practical tools that already exist - To reflect about identification methods and how to prevent direct or indirect exclusion of the young people from the ESC - To raise awareness about the new elements and the challenges for inclusion and the measures to be taken for increasing quality - To create an informal group of support among the participants to help each other and exchange after the end of the project, practices and on-going tested methods for ESC volunteering activities. - To create a Booklet of best practices and merely contribute to the training of youth workers for developing volunteering activities under the ESC. In order to achieve each point above, we needed to gather together Youth workers to get them a) to know each other, b) trained, c) exchange about their daily issues regarding volunteering activities. Also, the fact that they were coming from various background, with different experience and scope of activities, increased the creativity of the group in problem solving. Our organization is dedicated in inclusion of young people with disabilities or fewer opportunities in volunteering activities. Being at the beginning of European Solidarity Corps, creates some uncertainty about the methods and good practices, which were working for EVS. We believe that, we and our partners, needed to discuss and be trained at the new functions of the Program and so we did. This Course did offer ideas, examples and practical technicals through which the present youth workers and representatives of the partners could engage with challenging questions and better understood the context the new Program was and is setting. What are the perspectives of young people with fewer opportunities currently? How to identify a young person at risk? What are the causes of low participation? What are the responses to it? How can a youth worker make a difference? What are the new practicalities behind the ESC program? Using already new and existing tools like the SALTO resources, debates and exchange of good practices, the aim was to train youth workers and we gave them tools to develop volunteering activities based on the quality and inclusion. The main objectives of this project were: - To train youth workers and bring them tools to face the changes and the new challenges of ESC - To support frontline practitioners, especially youth workers, with practical tools that already exist - To reflect about identification methods and how to increase the quality for the young people - To create an informal group of support among the participants to help each other and exchange after the end of the project - To create a Booklet of best practices for the volunteering activities under the European Solidarity Corps Program. This project tended to contribute to the achievement of the promotion of European values in accordance with Article 2 of the Treaty on the European Union, as noticed in the Erasmus+ guide. It was linked to the Key Action 1 because it supported mobility of youth workers to undertake a learning in another country. In our opinion all the objectives were met fully, we had some change of participants, but the number stayed the same. Of course, if you work with many organizations with disabled participants the chances for changes are bigger then normal. In the end however we had a great team and great results. Also, as a base we used our strategic plan that we created in the PBA, and this training was part of that. We attached it again to this final report.
