Objectives

The main goal of the project "En garde! Defend yourself with dance!" it will establish permanent Polish-Ukrainian friendship and create a strategic partnership between the Polish and Ukrainian nation on the European and international arena. The project responds to the need for reconciliation and establishing a lasting dialogue based on friendship. In Poland (01/10 - 07/10/2019) fencing workshops are planned, enriched with historical, cultural and language animations. The classes are to bring the difficult history of Poland and Ukraine to the youth, as well as show the high rank of EU values and the importance of fair play. Taking part in the classes, the young people will be able to understand the essence of the need for Polish-Ukrainian reconciliation. At the end of the stay, the participants will organize a fencing tournament. During mobility in Ukraine (22/10 - 28/10/2019), the task of the youth will be learning Polish and Ukrainian folk dances. The goal will be to create your own choreography combining elements of the known dances. Mobility in Ukraine will end with a performance in front of the audience and presenting the developed dance art. This stage will help to overcome the fear of public speaking, affect expression and enhance the creativity of participants. The project will allow participants to get to know the history, culture and traditions of the participating countries together, as well as contribute to learning and breaking all stereotypes and language barriers. In the schedule, both in Poland and Ukraine, time was provided for visiting places of memory and martyrdom and lighting candles. The symbol of light on graves is to encourage young people to reflect on the past and reflect on the future.
