Objectives

Physical inactivity, increasing tobacco use, excessive consumption of alcohol and poor diet and nutrition, and many more are common issues identified as a common problem which young people face back to our home countries. Furthermore, unhealthy living and eating are increasingly becoming part of today’s lifestyle leading to the rapid rise of diseases such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, or obesity. The above-mentioned situation brings several problems to their life, such as sedentary lifestyle, unhealthy nutritional habits, lack of exercise and other related unhealthy behaviors, which itself leads young people to become socially inactive and socially excluded. This is why the project will gather 36 participants from Poland, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, Turkey, and Lithuania, to share, and extend their current knowledge and skills and acquire new ones with regards to a healthy lifestyle and social inclusion. Used methods will be non-formal, informal, participate, encouraging identification with the content of the project and maximizing the learning effect. The Youth Exchange will include role-plays, small group discussions and other non-formal education methods which are highly participation, dynamic and structured to elicit and enrich the knowledge of participants about sports, physical activity, healthy eating, living, and acting, in accordance to social inclusion practices. Apart from this, participants will explore different sports and physical activities during the project so that they can find their favorite one to continue practicing and promoting it back to their communities. The objectives of this youth exchange are: (a) To explore the concept of a healthy lifestyle; (b) To discuss current issues related to the nutrition, sports, and social exclusion through sharing good practices and experiences related to prevention of diseases (caused by lack of exercise and poor eating habits), and using sport as a social inclusive method; (c) To provide participants with theoretical and practical opportunities to improve their physical and health competencies; (d) To empower youngsters to multiple competencies gained during the Youth Exchange in their local communities by spreading outputs of the project (vlogs, project video, press releases, photos, future local and international projects); (e) To promote nonformal education and Erasmus+ Programme as a support tool for health education; (f) To raise participants' awareness and understanding of other cultures and countries, offering them the opportunity to build networks of international contacts, to actively participate in society and develop a sense of European citizenship and identity.
