Whether it is in the mainstream media or on the social networks, we can hear ever more often the news about racist and xenophobic behaviours. They become more aggressive and dangerous every time. At the same time the indifference of bystanders is getting more common. On the Web, you can even find words of acceptance towards those kind of behaviours among the comments. These are social and political matters that we don’t understand often due to historical and economical factors. The school, where we spend much of our time, should be a friendly place for everybody. It often becomes a place of unpleasant comments, a place of intolerance and hostility. Much of these kinds of behaviour stems from failure to understand. The school doesn’t give us lessons on how to deal with that problem – and when it does focus on it, it offers only arbitral views. We want to take a look on this issue form our perspective and as we all are school kids – intolerance is not uncommon for us. The main goal of our project is to promote openness and tolerance among our peers. We believe that a message coming from us and not the adults, will be stronger and more comprehensive. The means for achieving that goal will be short informational videos – social campaign spots. In order to make our message true we need to understand the issue thoroughly first. In the first – empirical – stage of our exchange, during many activities based on non-formal education methods, we will gather experience and come to conclusions. In the second – creative – part, we will plan and make our short movies.
