Objectives

Europe: Bring Back the Love!” is a 6-day contact-making seminar that will take place November, 2019 in Nowy Gierałtów, Poland. It will bring together 24 youth workers from 12 countries. Its purpose is to reintroduce more enthusiasm towards the idea of European integration among young people that all partner organisations work with. The seminar’s aim is to: 1) learn about: - our organisations, local realities, challenges and good practices - ideas, visions and values that we promote on daily basis 2) explore Europe: - values and attitudes that make the foundation of European integration - current crisis of integration and its socio-economic causes - issues that this crisis produces for us as youth organisations - ways of combating xenophobic attitudes, promoting tolerance and respect for diversity 3) develop participants’ competences with regard to: - managing projects - various opportunities available through EU programmes - implementing good practices in our respective organisations 4) enable participants and partners to develop further initiatives in youth work, so as to: - reignite passion for the vision of integrated Europe among young people - enhance cooperation in Europe - promote core European values METHODS The seminar will be designed to match specific needs of participants and their parent organisations. It will be based on participatory methods. The diversity of competences and experiences in the group of participants will be used as an additional resource. Most sessions will take the form of workshops, during which participants will be able to share their knowledge with the use of various non-formal education methods. Facilitators will ensure a safe learning environment, conducive to a fruitful exchange of thoughts and experiences. Participants will have an opportunity to gain competences valuable for their personal and professional development, also as members of their respective organisations. The learning process will take place both at the individual level and within groups, through synergy. The programme and methods are designed so as to facilitate the transfer of learning outcomes into the participants’ work environment. The detailed programme of the seminar is attached to the application. LONG-TERM OUTCOMES The applicant’s goal is to prevent the intensification of anti-integration and xenophobic attitudes. Youth workers that will participate in the seminar will receive tools and competences that will help them promote European integration and respect for diversity among young people. Partners share the belief that Europe’s strength is solidarity in diversity. We wish to infuse our work with renewed enthusiasm for the idea of common Europe.
