The "We! - Citizens of Europe" project was created by young people active in our Foundation and young people active in partner organizations. Based on the experience from previous projects, they noticed that many young people do not lack motivation to act, they lack only knowledge, and thus they do not see the possibilities of active participation in programs such as Erasmus + opens up to them. Together, we have come to the conclusion that nowadays young people are experiencing a crisis of authorities and ideals, which is why they are becoming less socially active and passive. The project is a continuation of activities that our Foundation has been undertaking for 2 years. Through activities under youth exchange projects, we want to instill in young people European ideas like: openness to other cultures and sense of European community. We also want to draw the attention of young people to the current challenges faced by our community, as well as show them the way through which by implementing their own initiatives can shape the future of the European Union. During the implementation of previous projects, we made many surveys (street and online), interviews and discussions that allowed us to determine the main objectives of our new project. A large proportion of young people know what the Erasmus + program and the others are about to do, but they do not know the idea and the perspective behind them. This deficit is a direct cause of lack of willingness and motivation to undertake independent actions and participation also in other programs. Discussing the assumptions of the project with our partners, we came to the conclusion that the problem we want to raise concerns not only our Polish youth but is also noticeable in other countries. The main goals of the project are: - promotion of the Erasmus + program among young people - activation of youth acting at our organization and partner organizations - instilling in the project participants the idea of citizenship and European society - creating a professional video promoting the Erasmus + program aimed at young people, which will be sent to all our partners. The project is designed to instil in young people values that will motivate them to continue their development in such a way that future activities undertaken by them flow from their internal need.
