WHY? This project is an initiative of organizations gather in an informal network named "Outdoors as a Tool." A concept of seminar is an result of partners work during train-the-trainers training 2018/2019. During that training we had some challenging situation with a group process. Based on trainers intuition we solved it, however we feel a lack of knowledge and good practice how to deal with a group when there is a serious crash. We did a research in experiential education literature and realized that there is not a lot of resources and tips for trainers. There is an existing methodology for psychologist - but trainers in a non-formal education has not competences to use therapeutic approach. So we decided to organize together a seminar on this very specific topic: how to deal with hard moment in a group process. In a safe environment, and with help from our extra guest - experiential education psychologist - we want to discuss, try and prepare some methods, scenarios, algorithm for young trainers. OBJECTIVES * supports the professional development of youth workers in a topic of challenging situations regarded to group dynamics by organizing international seminar * create a space for supervision and professional feedback for youth workers * to discuss and try plenty of methods that youth workers could apply in challenging situation with youth * to support professional development inside Outdoors as a Tool network * to share, discuss and try methods comes from different backgrounds related to non-formal education as a body work, drama, art * to improve our coaching and group facilitation techniques related to youth work * discuss challenges in youth work, coming from group dynamics and human behavior The professional development of the participating youth workers contribute to capacity building for quality youth work of their organisation and would have a clear impact on the participating youth workers' regular work with young people. Project would also promote diversity, intercultural and inter-religious dialogue, common values of freedom, tolerance and respect of human rights and needs. Equipping youth workers with competences and methods needed for transferring the common fundamental values of our society particularly to the hard to reach young people. By creating an video-materials we want to encourage participants to use it more often and cross the resistance of trainers. Making such materials will contribute to breaking down it and be more eagerly using digital methods that better reach youth. By putting our material to Salto Toolbox and the Erasmus+ Project Results Platform, we would promote a responsible and professional approach to group work. By promoting The Competence Model for Youth Workers to Work Internationally we would contribute to spread knowledge and good practice between our organizations and their partners. Thanks to such planned activities, it will be possible to use the results obtained beyond the financing period.
