WHAT WE WANT TO ACHIEVE In recent years, we have seen the drift of many European democracies towards nationalistic behaviour, closing borders and hostility towards ethnic minorities, migrants or refugees. The increase in aggressive attitudes of intolerance and discrimination towards these individuals causes them additional difficulties in their social inclusion process, which in itself is quite arduous, due to the fact that they have to adapt to a culture completely different from their own. Taking this into account, the social problem that we intend to address with the implementation of this youth exchange is the difficulty of social inclusion faced by migrants, refugees or ethnic minorities, caused by the enormous prejudice and misinformation that exists to these groups. The needs, identified along with the youngsters, were the following: -Creation of mobility, learning and empowerment opportunities for young people with fewer opportunities; -Reducing prejudice and stigma against refugees, migrants or ethnic minorities; -Recognition of the condition and problems faced by refugees, migrants or ethnic minorities; -Strengthen of the European identity, in order to build a safe and inclusive European environment, where there’s place for everyone. As young people are the future of Europe and the future agents of transformation of social realities, this project aims to make them aware of this problem and the urgency of promoting diversity, interculturality and tolerance as the fundamental values that need to be adopted to make Europe a truly inclusive place, where everyone has a place. GOALS Based on the problem and identified needs, the objectives were outlined: -Enabling young people (via ENF) with essential skills to promote the transformation of more vulnerable social realities and more effective action with ethnic minorities, migrants or refugees, by making this learning opportunity available; -To make young people and society aware of the problems and processes of social exclusion faced by migrants, refugees or ethnic minorities, in order to reduce prejudice and discrimination against them; -Promote the social inclusion of ethnic minorities, refugees or migrants, through the dissemination of the values of diversity, interculturality and tolerance throughout society; -Promote intercultural dialogue, cooperation between European organizations and the participation of young people with fewer opportunities in society.
