Objectives

The social problem identified is the social exclusion of young people from rural social spaces, caused by the devaluation of natural heritage and social isolation, typical of these areas. This is a major and neglected problem, and there is an urgent need to address the lack of innovative social responses that focus on the social inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities that live in rural social spaces, especially through the training of youth workers. Ruralized social spaces are marked by processes of social exclusion, mainly due to the problems of physical and social isolation. Young people need to be endowed with skills that enable them to overcome socio-geographical obstacles and break the reproductive cycle of isolation and social injustice. With the realization of this project, it is intended that the participating youth workers develop skills to intervene in the problems identified, through this learning experience in a rural context. In addition, it intends to increase the valorization of the natural heritage and the recognition of its potential, in a logic of environmental sustainability, in favour of social inclusion and diversity. The objectives of this project are as follows: - Promote the development of social, personal, educational and professional skills in youth workers for the active promotion of social inclusion and youth empowerment; - Empower youth workers with essential knowledge and skills to promote the empowerment of young people, especially those with fewer opportunities living in rural areas; - Enable youth workers to develop initiatives appropriate to the needs of young people, increasing the quality of the regular work of their organizations, especially with regard to mitigating the problems connected with the desertification of the interior and with the social isolation that comes from that process; - Promote the capacity building of youth workers on new methodologies, especially NFE and informal education (IE), to apply them in projects aimed at the development of skills in young people; - Promote awareness and sharing of values and good practices, in the context of social inclusion and preservation of the natural heritage. - Promote the motivation of participants and organizations to develop initiatives in the field of youth and the Erasmus + programme.
