You(th) are (p)art, will be a multilateral youth exchange, taking place in Porto and Matosinhos, Portugal. Young people coming from six different countries in Europe - Portugal, Spain, Germany, Bulgaria, Romenia and France with different cultural, social and educational background will be challenged by intensive artistic workshops, interactive methods for integration and inclusion to build a common performance and to present it in front of other young people in risk of dropping out of school. Many of the participants will travel for the first time abroad and for the first time will be part of a big international group involved into a creative artistic process with a final common goal – performing on a big stage for more than 100 people. A new perspective about the world will be discovered and a big impulse for personal development will be created by involving the young people into a process of exploration, imagination, creation, encouraging their attitude for expression and communication, improving their artistic skills and building a valuable and memorable performance for the aesthetic pleasure of the audience (mainly their mates). It will give them an unique opportunity to meet their peers, to get intensive artistic trainings and to get a powerful non formal learning experience by performing and receiving the feedbacks from the audience and from the trainers. The project will involve young people with fewer opportunities, mixed with other young people with some artistic skills and orientation. The aim of the project is to promote social inclusion and non formal learning by arts, creating conditions for being together, dreaming together, dancing and singing together, sharing and expressing freely, exchanging opinions and ideas, taking decisions, enjoying the diversity and being inspired by the nature, the context of the space and the artistic tasks. The participants will be divided into four working groups (i.e. Theatre, Dance, Music, Juggling and Media in support). Thanks to everyday workshops led by experienced trainers, participants will have a chance and possibility to gain new knowledge and skills, to express themselves and to work within an international team. The final performance will happen as an organic common process of exploring and creating, collecting ideas and results from the workshops and other activities, integrating them into the main concept. Public outdoor activities, sport games, media & photo sessions, intercultural presentations, open for local community, walks in the nature and sightseeing in Matosinhos and Porto will complete the activity program. All the participants will be informed about the opportunities that Erasmus + program open and will be encouraged to make the next steps in other Youth Exchanges. You(th) are (P)art project will be a life changing moment in the learning processes of the young participants, and will also emphasize the good artistic practices in nonformal education at local, national and international level, raising the visibility and awareness of the social-educational problem of early school leaving. The project will be a strong contribution to the efforts of AE2O to reduce in Portugal the number of early leavers by establishing a national policy and system of second-chance education.
