Mass-media has always been a strong source of power and resource for the power, both for good and bad, for truth and lie. As opinion makers and supporters of a bad and good side for everything, their huge role on every important historical moment as well as every anonymous person's daily life has always been undeniable. On the other hand, considering that most of the inhabitants of the world are internet users, and there's a huge amount of social media users, increasing by second, the media, the news, are no longer a "small group"'s job, it's an everyone's one. Citizenships become everyday opinion makers, we all read, write and share for everyone to see, without realising the power that we have, taking a big role in promoting sometimes lies, fake news, prejudices, racism and many other types of discrimination and social problems. And becoming also much more likely to become a victim of those attacks. We are missing a social media awareness, a media and language ethic education, and children and youngs been more and more involved, and the main users of this social media, make projects like this one essential to our society. With it, the main objectives pursued on this Youth Exchange are to promote the need of a social media awareness, to provide and develop the tools to identify the potential dangers and lies (fake news, rumours) in media, encouraging a non hate speech and trying to avoid and reduce prejudices and wrong ideas between countries and religions, as well as racism and any other kind of discrimination, which are, on this part, very related to the objectives of the Erasmus+ programme and this specific key action, destined to young people which are, after all, the ones with more power to change the future and its course. Apart from those already mentioned, the main objectives that we intend to achieve by implementing this project are to show youngsters how to check information, prove facts and find the clue, showing that there is a way to hear each other's true and to admit other opinions without hate and ignorance, methods of non-violent communication in social media and the willingness to change the situation in the media world; for them to learn how to deal or avoid fake news, developing a critical thinking as one of their main needs, considering social progress directly linked to their initiative and involvement; for them to improve their English and communication skills and intercultural awareness, helping all of this to their personal and professional development.
