Objectives

The "Career Explorers" project is a multilateral youth exchange organized under E+ framework, to be held in Horezu, Romania, between October 25 and November 2, 2019 (excluding travel days). The purpose of the project is to increase the level of knowledge, attitudes and skills (to know how to write a resume and cover letter, to know how to apply for a job or how to act at a job interview, etc.) and how to become active on the labor market for 36 young people aged 18-30 and 6 group leaders (without age) from the 6 participating countries for a period of 9 days. It is noteworthy that among the 36 P (excluding TL), the project aims to include 12 young people (30%) who face fewer opportunities in terms of economic, social and NEET. During the writing period, the applicant project team was directly involved in discussions with partners and people in local communities to clearly set SMART objectives for the project. Thus, the aim of the project will be achieved through the following specific objectives: OS1. Raising awareness of the importance of the labor market and the role of young people in shaping the future European society during YE. SO2. Encouraging 42 P and motivating them to exchange ideas, thoughts and strategies to make them become more productive members of their communities. These competences will be acquired / developed through non-formal education during the youth exchange. SO3. During mobility, the 42 P will learn how to draw up a well-structured Europass CV and a cover letter that can be adapted for different jobs. SO 4: During YE, the 42 participants will understand and learn the steps they need to follow to get an interview and to improve their communication skills during the interview. The objectives of the project are aligned with the E+ objectives: - Support young people to acquire skills that aim at their personal development, but also to increase employment opportunities on the labor market. Following the project, P will take concrete steps to find a job. - Increasing employability and improving career prospects for young people. Discussions on how to choose a proper career, analysis based on personality tests and personal experiences will help young people better choose the next job, thus increasing the chances of building a long-term career. - Through this project we try to respond to the priority: supporting the employability of young people with fewer opportunities (economic, social, but especially NEET). Also, after participating in this mobility, young people will better understand their role in society and in Europe's future as they will learn about the need to develop activities to create new opportunities for work and involvement both at the economic and at the social. During this youth exchange, each country involved will present the situation on the labor market of young people. Thus, our project responds to a very common need among young people: the need to become active on the labor market, and through the proposed activities we want to tackle the main identified problems: - young people do not know how to look for and recognize a job suitable for them, - young people do not know how to create a resume that highlights the experience they have, - young people do not know how to act / speak at an interview. Suggested non-formal education methods are designed to support the promotion of active citizenship among young people, develop participatory attitudes, support reflection, tolerance and also integrate intercultural differences. The non-formal methods proposed are different; these include verbal and non-verbal communication, visual communication, written communication. The young people participating in this exchange will also receive the Youthpass certificate at the end of mobility, which validates the skills acquired through participation in the project activities.
