Objectives

The main goal of the project is to support the social inclusion of the 20 young participants by boosting their social and initiative taking skills during a 10 day youth exchange where we will use 8 different activity types which belongs to the outdoor and experiential education. As a result of this program the youngsters will find their role and place in their local community easier and many of them will become active member in it. Objective 1: to increase the personal capacity, like self-confidence, responsibility, cooperation among the 20 participants with the help of the 3 type of challenging activities (hiking, canoeing, climbing) and 2 type of reflective activities (support group discussion and evening circles) during the 10 day youth exchange. The increased personal capacity will help the youngster in the future to find their role in their own community. Objective 2: to build up the ability of taking initiatives among the 20 participants by giving the leadership in the hand of the participants and by crating 5 occasion when each national group can teach different skills to the others during the 5 day land and water expedition. The improved ability of taking initiatives will help them to be active citizens in their own communities. We believe in inclusive education through the experiential and outdoor education, especially the expeditionary learning method. In the past we organized some project with this mixed target group, and methods and we had very good results. The needs of the youngsters can be resolved in an inclusive and supportive group, where everyone benefits from the appropriate challenges provided by the outdoor methods.
