Practicing physical activities in an organized setting, selecting and integrating youngsters into groups / sports teams in a competition of moral and educational values, dominated by a fair-play attitude, is definitely one of the most readily available method of combating bullying. The chosen activities offer space for the interaction of participants, the sharing of ideas, encouraging the avoiding of passive listening and allowing the participants to contribute to the activities with their own knowledge and skills, in order to accomplish all project objectives. Many studies have shown that juvenile crime rates are consistently reduced in neighborhoods where sports-based youth development programs enrich the lives of at-risk youth. These programs often result in community cohesion, which promotes the acceptance of people from different backgrounds and encourages strong and positive relationships between these individuals. There needs to be more youth sport programs that aim to rehabilitate youth who are already engaging in criminal activity and steer them in the right direction through mentorships and physical activity; this way, we can establish environments that are pro-inclusion and peaceful. We can see the positive impact sport programs have on the youth in our communities. The sport for development sector should create more programs to increase community cohesion in challenged communities where the number of youth engaged in violence is high. Erasmus+ has a priority on avoiding violence and radicalization among youngsters and specialy ethnic minorities , like is our case, roma people. In this sense, our project is closely related to this priority. Moreover, this application is in line with the overall objectives and priorities of the Erasmus + program, such as : improving key competences and promoting active citizenship among young people, social inclusion and solidarity, intercultural dialogue, promoting European cooperation in the youth field, social inclusion, European citizenship. Our project will also contribute to these priorities. The participation of 36 youth workers from 12 countries with different cultural backgrounds will create a beneficial framework for an efficient intercultural dialogue and will promote tolerance for different cultures- roma travellers, considering that youth workers will work together, discuss, reflect, find solutions to an important European issue – combating bullying against roma travellers through sport. Teamwork will help strengthen the sense of European citizenship- identity, by identifying and promoting common values.
