Objectives

The theme of social inclusion through sport is based on the important role of sport in the European society and its social function, a role recognized since December 2000 by the European Council declaration on the specific character of sport in the implementation of common policies (the Nice Declaration). Taking into account the issues of social inclusion at international level, EuroDEMOS and partners from 10 countries have laid the foundations of this project on how to bring an innovation element into the social inclusion of young people by creating non-formal methods based on sport activities. The project Social Promoters of inclusiOn thRough sporT is aimed at increasing the inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities at European level through sporting activities. The project aims at achieving the following objectives: - To train 30 youth workers from 10 countries as resource persons in working with persons with fewer opportunities - To develop 15 non-formal methods of increasing the inclusion of young people with fewer opportunities through sports activities - To develop the organizational strategies of the 10 partners with concrete new activities in the field of social inclusion of young people through sports activities.
