Objectives

Our aim is to provide a more complex picture about the topic: how democracy (should) work in daily life, what means being active citizen, and how the young people can become a conscious, active part in their society. As the topic of human rights is closely related to our main topic, we also involved it in the program that will help to the participants to think more complex about social issues. All in all, we would like to make the participating young people more aware about their rights, opportunities, to help them become socially engaged and to become more active citizens, especially European citizens, who are able to influence their future. In order to reach the aims mentioned above, we are going to organise a youth exchange with the involvement of 42 young people aged between 16-25, coming from 6 different countries. During the 8-day-long youth exchange we will: - To inform 42 young people about human rights - To raise 42 young people’s awareness about the importance of active citizenship - To encourage 42 young people about social engagement - To develop 42 people’s competences and skills, especially their critical thinking, social and cultural competences, cooperation skills, sense of initiatives and communication in foreign language. - To encourage 42 young people to think about social issues and not be afraid to share their opinion about it, thereby make them active part of their societies. The program will be implemented by using non-formal learning methods such as simulation, debate, discussion, team work, reflections, that help them to experience concrete situations, and to get to know more aspects. As the main result of the project, the participants will create a handbook in English, that includes their experience and thoughts about the project, active citizenship and human rights. The handbook will be published electronical version online and will be printed out as well.
