Our main targets by iplementing the project was: 1. Develop knowledge about the athlete's dual careers in school and sports 2. Develop knowledge of training methods and didactics in special sports and sport science with the aim to develop and educate tomorrow's elite athletes 3. Develop knowledge about athletes' study conditions within school and how we can meet and see each student with improved student health as a goal Based on its main goal, we wanted to give our coaches an opportunity to strengthen their competences. We wanted to continue working towards increased internationalisation at the school. We see it very important to be able to create opportunities for an exchange between coaches and students in order to create an elite sports environment that prepares the student for elite sports. We also wanted to learn how successful schools in other countries work in everyday life with their talents in the training environment and in school. What kind of organization the schools have to meet the demands and challenges that come with students who train at a high level while being able to invest in a good education.
Solna gymnasium is today and was before the start of our project one of Sweden's largest and most successful sports schools. We measure the quality of our School by the percentage of students who apply for our NIU programs, the percentage of students who recommend our programs, the percentage of students who reach the high school diploma, grades, sporting successes in the form of their sporting level, Swedish Championship medals, international successes and how many students whocontinue their sports careers after completing high school studies, etc. In order to develop our organsiation and to take new steps in the right direction and offer the students an even better environment for double careers, we felt it was important to gain international perspectives on dual careers and talent development.
