Entrepreneurial learning - entrepreneurship education

Objectives

First and foremost, to provide students with the opportunity for a unique experience and to bring the international perspective into the classroom in order to enhance international work skills by increasing respect and understanding for other people and gaining insights into cultural similarities and differences, improving students' communication skills both orally and in writing, encouraging initiative in studying and working abroad. We also want to achieve an international network of contacts for both the school and the students. This project will also increase the popularity of our vocational programmes and future students.

Background

We want to be able to continuously offer students who want to do an internship abroad. We applied in 2019 to send two classes in the Business and Administration programme abroard but with the circumstances of Covid-19 in mind, the project was postponed which in turn affected the students. Among the students there was a blind student who was going and we had received funding for him. In 2022 the project was reopened and we were able to send the students but a new class in the Business and Administration programme, where two of the students had special needs and went under the grant we had received. What happened when the project was up and running again was that due to Covid-19 Ireland did not accept us and two new colleagues were implemented in the project as project coordinators. The students are being introduced to the language, culture and working environment during their school time and the teachers are in contact with Tribeka regarding the internship and contact with both the students and the organisation. A period abroad will give them the opportunity to try out another language as well as providing them with cultural and work-related experience. This project also increases the popularity of our vocational programmes.
