The project "Clean Planet is my home” was created to solve the common changes which the youth from the participating countries of this YE face nowadays; here must be mentioned that the coordinator and the partner organizations, with the active involvement of the young people who proposed the idea of the project, has held a survey among young people from partner countries, which took place on September 1st to 30th 2018. The survey allowed us to analyze the essential points for resolving or/and assisting to solve environmental problems which participating countries and young people from these countries were and are facing; The most important findings show clearly what we wanted to achieve through this project: 1. The youth from the partner communities did not know how to find ways to solve environmental problems in their countries. Thus, the young people realized there were the problems and they needed to be responded, but they did not see their clear roles and ways of involvement in this - WE WANTED TO ACHIEVE activation of youth and allowing them independently take the actions to contribute to the improvement of the ecological situation in their own communities; 2. Most of the youth did not have a clear vision and information of what kind of environmental problems were existing in their countries, thus through this project WE WANTED TO ACHIEVE - that the young people raised their awareness about specific challenges in their own communities; 3. Also, through this project WE WANTED TO ACHIEVE the development of the sense of initiative of young people, promoting networking between the youngsters from different communities and developing future initiatives; 4. One of the main things WE WANTED TO ACHIEVE was to raise awareness about Erasmus+, especially for those coming from Erasmus+ partner countries; This project brought together young people from different countries, with different social backgrounds, interested in ecology, ecological problems, air/water and other kind of pollutions and the protection of the environment, as well as young people involved or/and interested in activities which are connected to environmental issues and those who had ideas and were willing to take part in solving environmental problems in their countries. The main goal of the project was: To raise awareness of the youth from EU and non-EU countries, to exchange knowledge, skills and experiences about environmental problems, transmit the newly obtained skills and knowledge in their home countries and share the ideas how to protect our nature, our health and how to reduce pollution. The specific objectives of the YE were: - To provide participants with the necessary skills, knowledge and attitudes on empowerment of young people in activities which were connected to environmental issues; - To show youngsters that individual efforts can make positive changes; - To find ways about how to solve environmental problems in each country through the development the social initiatives/projects on local and international level; - To increase the awareness about environmental pollution and its effect on our health; - To empower young people in taking personal responsibility in their countries and participating in decision-making processes regarding the protection of the environment. We do believe that this youth exchange project was also a good response to the Erasmus+ priority on European citizenship awareness of environmental protection, including energy saving and renewable energy.
