Project “Empowering Youth Entrepreneurship” was created with aim to provide opportunities for youth workers and young people to gain valuable skills for needed for work on their personal development, with emphasis on education, self-education opportunities creation and sharing skills with their peers. All partners involved in the project noticed a huge need for improvement in the field of entrepreneurship among their youth workers, as their present skills, competences and knowledge are not on the level they should be regarding this topic. Partners’ understanding of the situation and need for this project was based on previously done research about the current situation concerning the employment and self-employment among young people in countries participating in the project. Some of the findings are visible in following paragraph from the project proposal: “Unemployment is a concern almost everywhere, affecting more than 73 million young people around the world in 2014. Although the global economy has shown fairly consistent growth over the past two decades, young people entering the labour market today are less likely to secure a decent job than labour market entrants in 1995. Economic growth has in many places not translated into sufficient levels of jobs creation, especially for youth. Recent UN studies on youth employment say that self-employment can be freely chosen and profitable. This may be in own or family business, and is now increasingly facilitated by technology. “ Project consisted of one main activity; training course, and follow up activities in form of multiplication workshops implemented in all local communities where partner organisations are working. Due to situation concerning the outbreak of COVID19 virus, most of the follow up activities were not carried out in the planned way and reaching planned numbers of other youth workers and youngsters. Partners have agreed to implement follow-up activities once the situation with COVID19 outbreak is stabilised, and use gained resources and skills from this project in their future work. During the first part of training course activity, participants firstly had a chance to share present realities and situations in their countries regarding entrepreneurship and self-employment. Afterwards, they were presented with role of non-formal education in entrepreneurship and gained information about good example and practices of already existing systems. In the middle part, participants got an opportunity to work on developing of their entrepreneurial skills and learn how to develop business idea and business plan, how to do self-reflection, how to prepare project proposal and apply for different grants, and all of these through creative and innovative methods and approaches. In the final part of the activity, participants worked on preparing and planning of follow up activities that they were planned to implement in their local communities after end of training course. General issue and problem that was addressed in the project is lack of opportunities for both youth workers and young people to get knowledge and develop skills and competences regarding entrepreneurship and self-employment. Specific objectives of the project were: 1.) Fostering of future cooperation among partner organisations involved in the project – cooperation and creation of future international projects for empowering entrepreneurial and self-employment skills of young people, 2.) Creation of multiplication workshops in local communities - all partner organisations worked on implementing multiplication workshops, on which participants of the training course shared their new knowledge, skills and competences with other interested youth workers, 3.) Raising quality of work implemented by project partners - by equipping their youth workers with fundamental entrepreneurial skills and approaches that they will implement further in their work in organisations, 4.) Introduction of non-formal education methods and general promotion of Erasmus+ programme - encouraging partners to share tools and methods among each other, and to discover all possibilities of Erasmus+ programme for development and implementation of similar projects in the future.
