AKTU TRRAP is a project prepared on the suggestions and initiatives provided by young people outside the urban areas that partner organizations have established contact with. Youth, especially in rural areas (consequently with less opportunities) have detected the underdevelopment of tourist products offered in their local communities. Especially in developing countries they noticed a lack of commitment by local / regional / national support environment in developing tourist activities in small rural areas, based upon the sustainable tourism, that would utilise the natural and cultural heritage of the countryside as basis of their active tourism products. Several youth initiatives were identified, to conduct a project of international mobility, where young people will gain better competences based on experience of other countries and establish intercultural dialog and actively participate in changing local policies to better support the rural development and include active and sustainable tourist projects in future policies. With these goals the project will contribute to Erasmus+ programme objectives: improve the level of key competences and skills of young people, including those with fewer opportunities, as well as to promote participation in democratic life in Europe and the labour market; and to complement policy reforms at local, regional and national level. Project applicant will organize a learning mobility of youth, within which the participants will gain key competences for developing active and sustainable tourism within their own local community. This way they will strengthen the possibility of inclusion of youth in the creating additional development of the local offer. For this purpose, we will conduct learning mobility of youth, where participants sent by partner organizations will learn and exchange experience at hostel ‘Punkl na Ravnah na Koroškem’ about: 1) The potentials for developing active sustainable tourism in the rural areas, 2) The participation of youth in (co)creation of the preparation of tourist products, 3) How to raise the recognisability of the local environment by placing them in tourist products, 4) How to modify the local policies to better support the development of active sustainable tourism in rural areas. During the exchange, the participants will learn on practical cases, how this was achieved in Ravne and at Geopark Karavanke, which included cultural heritage (The home of Prežihov Voranc, memorial museum of Lovro Kuhar), natural heritage (the Obir caves at Bad Eisenkappel), visiting thematic routes – road of mošt; into their tourist offer, and compare with identified potentials of their own local environment. During the exchange the experience of setting up the Geopark Karavanke will be presented, with demonstration of cases to establish a product for active tourism by preserving and protecting natural resources at the same time. They will learn how setting up cross-border partnership helped the development of local environment and raised its visibility and characteristics. Therefore the goals of project activities are: 1) identifying local policies for developing sustainable natural active tourism, 2) description of local population (age groups, education and skills), 3) learning about and analysing good practice cases, 4) raising competences of intercultural dialog, 5) increasing active citizenship, 6) identification of tourist potential within local environment, and 7) other activities in chapter “aktivnosti”. Thus we will offer youth from partner countries a view to the background of developed tourist products and the insight into support needed to develop a sustainable active tourist product in the countryside. We will also achieve the exchange of knowledge about local communities and potentials to develop sustainable active tourist products in their environment (the participants will present their local environment, followed by in depth discussion), and foster active citizenship among youth in order to reach positive political changes for development of active tourist products in the countryside – within their local communities. Within the project we will prepare local recommendations for each of the partners, that will be recorded in a form of a video log (vlog). This vlog will include the knowledge and experience gained during the exchange in Ravne na Koroškem and will search for potential local products. The presentation of the idea for development of the local product for each partner will be discussed during common sessions, based on which the recommendations will be made, including the support measures that will enable the development of the local countryside. These recommendations will be published on the project open type Facebook group. They will be used to empower youth to conduct dialog with the local policy makers and achieve positive change to support the sustainable tourism as part of rural development.
