The project will give young people with special needs the opportunity to show themselves through music, including them into the local community, and at the same time young people from the local community will be invited, too. Through music young people will learn different cultures - Spanish (Catalan) and Slovene, as each national group will bring its distinctive melodies and songs. The participation of all involved will be concluded with a concert that will be opened to everyone. In this youth exchange, various organizations will participate on a voluntary basis, which will contribute to the participation through creation of music of the youth. With this youth exchange the young participants with special needs will attain international perspective, share cultural characteristics - especially musical ones. Young musicians and others from the local community will also interact directly with young people with special needs and help them create the end product. The goals of youth exchange are to give young people a place in the local community, giving them a voice with which they can express their musical creativity. Through the course of activities, social skills will be strengthened as the young people with special needs will have to co-create workshops and programs in mixed international groups. Through musical creativity they will express themselves, overcome fear, both in interpersonal interactions, and in their involvement in the local community. Sometimes we forget about an active role that the local community can and should take when including young people with special needs. The initiative of young people with various obstacles is usually emphasized, and the initiative of young people and other individuals from the local community is rarely encouraged. This project includes various organizations (like music schools), which primarily don't have contact with people with special needs. Through the course of the project and the activities, young participants will get to know different cultures, use a foreign language, they will work together to the same goal and gain new experiences in interactions, planning and carrying out workshops in the activity of youth exchange. Young adolescents in our center also have bad habits of using new technologies, especially when accessing social networks. Through this project, young people will also have the direct opportunity to gain experience in the use of new technologies in order to achieve a common goal, promotion of the event, dissemination of results and the possibility of additional communication (setting up the "pen pals" network before meeting youths among themselves).
