Through „Facing our Future“ project we want to connect 42 young participants from 6 EU countries to bridge their differences and to work together for 10 days, learn new things, grow as individuals and produce quality ideas for the good of their communities and the world. Through youth exchange activities the participants will develop valuable life skills like critical thinking, creative expression, taking responsibility through solidarity with the People and Planet and learn on the power of youth energy. We believe that youth energy is innovative, creative and practical and can bring new ideas for future of the world to the ears of those who can make changes. We want to discuss how to use our powerful youth energy to fight Climate Change. The Main Objective of the project: - to improve participants' knowledge on Climate Change and to foster their life skills (critical thinking, creative expression, communication etc.) through various non-formal and informal educational activities (workshops, seminars, games, exercises, quizess etc.) and teach them how to apply this knowledge and skills to help our Planet and it's inhabitants. Other Objectives of the project: - promoting universal positive values like Empathy, Solidarity, Multiculturalism and Tolerance through project's educational and disseminational activities; - promoting European cooperation in the youth field and attaining increased capacity of partner organisations to operate at EU/international level by modernisation of their activities and by internationalization of their managerial and organizational capacity through creating a strong partnership, - promoting mobility opportunities for youth by organising youth exchange project in international environment (in Slovenia with 6 EU partner organisations for 42 young participants). On 1st January 2016, the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development — adopted by world leaders in September 2015 at an historic UN Summit — officially came into force. Over the next fifteen years, with these new Goals that universally apply to all, countries should mobilize efforts to end all forms of poverty, fight inequalities and tackle climate change. The latest GlobeScan-SustainAbility Survey which explores global sustainability expert views about progress made on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), in March 2019 came to conclusion that society’s progress on sustainable development and the SDGs has been inadequate. More than 450 experienced professionals from North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, Latin America and Africa who responded to this Survey call out Climate Action as the most urgent of the 17 Goals for society to seriously focus on. In the last few months, we can see rapid rising of the climate movements all over the world. Especially youth is organizing in global movements and saying out loud what the previous generations should have said: „If we don't stand up and face our Future – who will do it for us? We should organize and stop further destruction of our Planet and our Future!“. 16-year old Greta Thunberg started to peacefully protest in front of Swedish Parliament in August 2018 trying to encourage the public to activelly engage in fighting climate issues (ie. lowering the carbon emmissions). Today this young girl inspired so many young people around the world to actively participate in society and we can see that youth loudly express their opinion and desperetly try to reach the politicians and change-makers to secure their future and the future of the Planet we all live on. Our organisations are constisted of young members who want to engage into fighting Climate Change, face the challenges of modern times and connect with their peers to find possible solutions for Climate Change crisis.
