Network Young street (MMU) is a network that involves youth organisations (Institute Bob, Association Sezam, Institute MISSS, Cirkokrog, Public institute Mladi zmaji, Youth council of Slovenia) which united with the same vision to recognize the distresses, needs and wishes of the young people. We inform youth about the meaning of taking care of their friends and encourage them to take responsibilities for their actions. In our work we use the method of street based youth work (SBYW), which means that we work directly with young people in their environment. Among SBYW workers we detected the need for expanding their basic knowledge about street work and competencies for implementing the SBYW, which we get with the basic training for SBYW that is implemented yearly by MMU. For analysis of the needs and expectations we created online questionnaire which was sent to the all SBYW workers of MMU. In it they were able to express their wishes and needs for getting to know good practices street based youth work from abroad and also their challenges and how they cope with that challenges, their approaches in the new locations, activities and tools that they use at working with youth. They answered that they want to know more about working with vulnerable young people and about the way that they network with different stakeholders of SBYW. SBYW from Network young street responded that they don’t have enough skills and knowledge for working with vulnerable young people. We notice that we could improve the quality of implementing SBYW of MMU with getting to know practices of experienced SBYW and organisations that practice SBYW and rise our practice to the higher level and include in it young people that we currently don’t reach. Because of the listed findings we want to do a study visit to the Netherlands and see and get to know with the practices of implementing SBYW with vulnerable young people and networking with different local stakeholders that works with young people. The purpose of the training is upgrading the practices of SBYW of the organisations of MMU and development of the competences for implementing SBYW workers of MMU.
