Objectives

With the training course, we will provide participants framework and space for their personal development and artistic expression as means to prevent burnout, increase their job satisfaction and motivation to work with their communities. Though artistic skills aren't obligatory to use digital storytelling exercises in work with individuals and communities, we also aim to develop participants' creative expression skills and technical skills in visual arts and storytelling. We expect this would help to produce better visual outputs of the project, and these skills might be helpful in to promote activities and causes of participants and their organisations. The learning objective of the course is also strengthening creative confidence and abilities of the participants, as well as their foreign language abilities and skills needed to work in intercultural team and with intercultural groups. Finally, we aim to foster networking among the participants, thus supporting creation of new learning opportunities, international initiatives, and building personal support networks among those involved in fields of education, training and youth. Our activities will include discussions and exercises on specifics of working with socially vulnerable groups of youth at risk like queer youth with a special focus on the ways and methods to foster their self development, inspire and raise awareness among a wider community through sharing personal stories. Participants will go through an intensive set of sessions aiming to teach them how to master the emerging practice of digital storytelling and design a concrete follow-up activity plan to implement in their own respective communities and extended networks. Therefore, the general objective of providing them with an input on new methods connected to the issue will be met. Thanks to sessions devoted to sharing best practices and exchanging methods about the various expertise of the participants, the objective of providing the team with a space for learning from each other and gaining inspiration on new solutions of the problem will be also met. In addition, the experiential learning phase of our training will bring the team to represent and express their own personal tales. The mosaïc of their stories will compose a plural portrait fostering empathy, understanding and promoting inclusion, worth spreading to a wider audience. This creation will be presented in a public exhibition, together with traces of their overall experience and learning outcomes as a group. Those activities will also be an opportunity for meeting and fostering intercultural dialogue and inclusion between participants and local community, as well as raising visibility about our project and the Erasmus+ programme. The achievement of the last objective of the training, namely establishing a network of like-minded individuals and organizations interested in further cooperation, will be ensured thanks to extended open space sessions where participants will have a chance to work together on concrete follow-up projects to be implemented later on.
